Electroplating

Information about the process of electroplating.

What is Electroplating?

Electroplating is the process of coating the cut lacquer with silver and then dipping it in a bath of electrically-charged nickel to create a stamper. This stamper serves as the negative mold that creates your record.

Electroplating is required for all jobs at New Orleans Record Press. Due to technical requirements with our pressing equipment, it is difficult to accept previously created stampers which may not fit our press. Please contact us for possible solutions.
