The New Orleans Record Press is the city’s first and only independently owned vinyl record pressing plant. Founded in 2017 in the historic Bywater neighborhood, we have pressed more than one million records for independent labels, recording artists, and reissue specialists across the United States. As the only vinyl pressing operation in Louisiana — and one of a small number of independent plants anywhere in the American South — we bring domestic vinyl manufacturing to a region that had none.
At the New Orleans Record Press we aim at building long-term relationships with our clients by providing audiophile record pressings, transparent pricing, and attentive customer care. We will work closely with you to design a high-quality and affordable record package that suits your needs and budget.
Every record we make is pressed in-house on our own equipment. Our fully automatic Viryl WarmTone press handles standard production, while our manual hydraulic press is reserved for heavyweight and specialty runs. We manufacture 12-inch and 7-inch records in 150-gram and 180-gram weights, in classic black and across a full range of color and effect options — solid color, splatter, marble, and swirl. Beyond pressing, we print center labels, cut lacquers and master through trusted partners, and fabricate custom jackets and inner sleeves, so an artist can take a project from audio file to finished, shrink-wrapped record in one place.
We built New Orleans Record Press for the independent music community. Most of our customers are self-releasing artists and independent labels pressing runs from a few hundred to several thousand copies, and many come to us through referrals from other artists who trusted us with their music. We run a two-stage quality control process — in-line sampling during pressing plus final visual and audio inspection — this means every order that ships from our Montegut Street facility meets the standard our customers’ releases deserve.
